Dentures have been the classic solution to complete tooth loss for a very long time. Although the manufacturing of dentures has evolved over time, they haven’t reached the level of comfort and functionality that people would desire.
Additionally, the lack of teeth will eventually lead to bone loss, and even after several relines, dentures will simply not fit any more, leaving patient with the unpopular option of using adhesive pastes to try and keep dentures in place.
Dentures can also be damaging to gum tissues if they don’t fit properly. Chewing with dentures will never be the same as chewing with your own teeth, or an implant-supported prosthesis, and they can easily break if not properly cared for.
